New Contract - 23-05-2013

UK engineering firm Denman Instrumentation has once again re-established its long term relationship with EPC giant Alstom Power to assist in the commissioning of the Az-zour combined-cycle power plant in Kuwait.

Alstom’s scope of work; to build a steam-tail add-on, will consist of adding steam power generation equipment to an existing gas power plant to increase its efficiency.

The steam-tail will add 400 megawatts (MW) to the existing 800 MW power plant capacity, increase its efficiency and cut emissions per MW produced (Alstom.com).

Denman will be sending out a team of instrument technicians to assist with the loop checking and commissioning of the Heat Recovery Steam Generators (HRSG’s) and Water Steam Cycle (WSC). The contract is another in a long line of projects for Denman with Alstom Power, having previously completed commissioning work at Claus C, Netherlands and a number of UK based projects.

This will not be the first time Denman has worked in the Middle East having already completed projects in Fujairah, Dubai and Oman.
