Completion of Project - 10-02-2012

The end of January has brought the completion of Denman Instrumentation’s contract with Alstom Power for instrumentation and commissioning support on Pembroke Power Station (CCGT), Pembrokshire, Wales.

This is the fourth major contract Denman have completed with Alstom in recent years on their projects in the UK, that has also included work at Langage, Isle of Grain and Staythorpe power stations.

With the supply of instrument supervisors and technicians during the commissioning phase of the project, the scope of work carried out consisted of:  Loop Checks, Function Checks, Calibrations and As Built Documentation.  This has been carried out in all areas of the plant including: HRSG’s GT’s, ST’s, Water Treatment and Cooling Water Systems.

The power station which consists of five generating units, each around 400MW (2,000MW in total), with the combined ability to generate power for around three and a half million homes is one of the UK’s largest power stations.

Denman have been active on the site since January 2011 and the year long contract has been one of Denman’s most lucrative in the UK with the contract worth in excess of £600,000.

Managing Director, Paul Denman, has been pleased with the success of the project and hopes that the excellent relationship with Alstom both in the UK and worldwide is set to continue: “With Pembroke being the fourth major contract we have completed with Alstom in the UK since 2008, we are delighted to have been chosen for our expertise in the fields of instrumentation and commissioning support. We hope that the high level of service provided ensures we continue to deliver our services to Alstom both in the UK and abroad for years to come.”
